Fr. David and the Bishop of Peterborough are delighted to announce and confirm that Mr. Gregory Shaw has been appointed to serve as Assistant Curate in the Yardley Hastings Benefice following his ordination to the diaconate in July 2012. Fr. Gregory, as he will be known, will serve his first year as a part-time, self-supporting deacon whilst he continues to run his own wine merchant business in Northampton. He is currently completing his studies with the Oxford Ministry Course based at Cuddesdon. He, his wife Nicola and children Giles, Hugo (both 11) and Genevieve (8) will continue to live in their own home in Northampton.
Fr. Gregory's initial role in the Benefice will be to continue his training towards priesthood. As a deacon, he will not be able to conduct services of Holy Communion, Matrimony or Baptism. It is intended that he will be ordained priest in the summer of 2013 and continue to work in the Benefice for approximately three further years.
